A quick visit

These are woods near Pipe Lake. It reminds us so much of being in Akademgorodok in Siberia. We are missing our friends there.

Bob cleared the deck and stairs of fallen leaves--one more preparation for the upcoming snow.

The woods are bare and just waiting for some snow.

Rob hung these Tibetan prayer flags this summer. We like their gentleness among the tree branches.

The lake is very low. Ordinarily, the water comes right up to the rock that you can see near the lower center of the photo.

I love it. I cannot wait to be there with you next week! I miss you guys so much. And it DOES look like Siberia. No wonder you were so comfortable there. Do you miss it?

We miss our friends. If the weather wasn't going to get so cold there, we'd miss it too. Would be great to see it in Spring and Summer sometime...

Great, thanks for the update and pictures. I am hoping for some precipitation to make up for the low water in the lake.

Welcome back to North America.

Amazing. We're about to lose all of the leaves in Frankfurt too. I was down on the Zeil last week and a leaf fell on my head. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but the leaf was HUGE-- the size of five normal leaves all in one! We've driven some outside of Frankfurt too, and the leaves are beautiful. I'm glad I don't have to rake them though!

:)
